Invasive Species

Observers were taught to identify eight recognized noxious invasive species, four found primarily in the intertidal zone and four found primarily in the backshore. The intertidal species include: green crab, eelgrass (Zostera japonica), spargassum, and spartina. The species found in the backshore include: English ivy, hedge bindweed, Himalaya blackberry, and Scot's brom. Observer's identified whether or not each of these invasive species were found in each section.
